Property Manager & Owner
Ginger Hayter grew up in Oklahoma, Nevada, Washington and Alaska, with her mother, two sisters and two brothers. She moved to Ketchikan in 1988. Ginger has incredibly strong ethics and work values, and when she’s not working she enjoys gardening (dirt), being on the water with her significant other, and spending time with “the Grands”: Avaka, Cody and Zerek.
Prior to co-founding Premier Rentals, Ginger worked as the Unit Secretary for IBEW, Local 1547. She was there for nearly 20 years, going the extra mile nearly all the time for the people of Ketchikan. Looking for a career change, Ginger left IBEW in July 2016 and became a licensed real estate agent. She signed on with Providence Properties as their property manager and quickly learned she didn’t just like it – but she was good at it too! It was at Providence Properties that she and Christina Zaugg, another licensed agent met and worked together, and working with Providence Properties Broker Sharli Artnzen, to found sister company Premier Rentals.
“I get excited when I know I can give people results that help make their lives easier. It’s what I did at the Union and it’s what I do as a property manager. Whether helping people find a place to rent, helping landlords rent their homes long-term or short-term, or serving as the liaison between owners and renters on maintenance issues and other property issues, it’s all about listening … listening to the details and having systems and processes in place to make things as easy as possible for other. I am honest and loyal and I believe in accountability. I look forward to working with you.
Sharli grew up in Ketchikan, graduated from Kayhi and worked serving others in multiple capacities, before becoming the Broker/Owner for Providence Properties. She attended Eastern Washington University and graduated with a B.A. in English with an emphasis in Technical Communications. After graduating she returned to Ketchikan and married. When she's not working at the office, she's working at home as the mother of three young kids, serving as the Chair of the KGB Planning Commission, or volunteering with her church, in the schools, or with one of the many non-profits of which she is a member.
After receiving her degree and prior to founding Providence Properties, Sharli worked as a substitute teacher had the privilege of directing the local Big Brothers Big Sisters office, and she worked with Critical Care Inc, a statewide non-profit. From there, Sharli tapped into the teaching skills she learned and opened her own group fitness studio. In 2009, when her daughter was born, she sold Liberty Fitness (now called T.N.A. Fitness) and helped with her husband’s business, Tongass Indoor Storage.
Sharli earned her real estate license in June of 2011 and spent 4 years with the Re/Max of Ketchikan team. After passing the test in March 2015, with her Broker’s license in-hand, she set out the following June to begin Providence Properties. She has grown the company to over 6 Crew members and is expanding once again by becoming the broker for Premier Rentals.
Christina has been involved in property management for over twenty years. She has managed both long term and short-term vacation rentals. When the opportunity presented itself to blend her knowledge and experience of property management with the many talents and strengths of Ginger and Sharli, she jumped on board. “I know the vast capabilities of our combined talents and efforts will be beneficial to our clients and community”.
Originally from Michigan, Christina’s family moved to Ketchikan in 1982. She graduated from Ketchikan High School then flew south to attend college and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. Next she worked on the East coast as a designer in Residential, Commercial and Contract Design with an emphasis on Commercial and Contract in the Hospitality fields such as Hotels and Restaurants. Her experience gives her the know-how to assist business clients in envisioning, selecting, negotiating and purchasing their new investment properties, which also make her a valuable asset.
Once again family, specifically her beloved daughter Tressa’s love of Ketchikan, brought her back to its magnificent scenery and people. She met her husband Gary, a native of Ketchikan for generations, and also gained the addition of his two children Ashley and Tyler. She has worked with many wonderful people as she fulfilled her other professional interest of computer science.
Once again family changed her course, not to leave Ketchikan but to re-ignite her creativity and passion for real estate. Combining the talents and experience of her family members, they formed Towne Enterprises LLC and began purchasing, remodeling and building properties they sell or retain for income property (including long term and short term vacation rentals in our hospitality market). This passion combined with the influence of others and the opportunity to help clients realize their dreams and goals led her to pursue an additional career as a licensed Real Estate professional in the great state of Alaska.
